Wolf Park. A nonprofit education and research facility, established in 1972 by Dr. Erich Klinghammer. Along with research and seminars on wolf behavior, Wolf Park provides presentations and other programs open to the general public. Most of the wolf photos use on our site are of woolves living at Wolf Park.
Though Wolf Park does not teach Primitive Skills, this year, in honor of the life of my great friend Dr. Erich Klinghammer, Two Wolves will be donating 10% of our profits to the park's Junior Volunteer program. |

Traditional Tanners. They were very helpful to us when we started tanning. Lots of good information on their site. Matt Richard's book "Deerskins into Buckskins" is in our opinion the single best source of information on Wet Scrape Braintanning. They also sell all manner of tanning supplies and books. Another great feature on their website is the "Hide Out", an online forum for tanners of all levels of experience. |

Melvin Beattie. In 1978 Melvin Beattie brought his brain-tanned buckskin to sell at a black-powder rendezvous with some 300 people. He was the only one there with genuine braintan. At the same rendezvous ten years later there were 3,000 people in attendance, and it seemed that everyone had braintan to sell.
Melvin was one of a few people around the country who helped recover the nearly lost art of braintanning. Today there are individuals all over the West who learned wet-scrape tanning directly from Melvin, or from others he has taught. |

Kenneth Little Hawk. A great friend, Little Hawk is an amazing Native American musician and storyteller. I first heard the "Two Wolves" story told by Little Hawk in one of his performances, and so in a sense, he is the "Grandfather" of Two Wolves Braintanning. |
